Bryan/College Station area MS150 Riders and Fundraising Information

The BP MS 150 is a bicycle ride fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis. Riders will leave Houston on April 17, 2004 and arrive in Austin on April 18, 2004. There is an overnight stop in Lagrange. This is an approximate 180 mile bike ride, even though the name promises only 150 miles!

All the people here have signed up for the fun part -- riding our bikes. What we need help with is the hard part: raising money to help fight MS. We hope to have 13,000+ riders out the weekend of the 17/18 of April, and we hope to raise $8 million to fight MS.

Even a small donation of $10 helps -- of course donations of $25 or $50 help more! :) Pick your rider, click on the link near his/her name and you can make a donation of any amount on-line.

Last year the ride generated over $7 million dollars for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Over $4 million of that went to research projects in Texas. Take a look here at the Lone Star Chapter of the National MS Society and click on the "research" tab at the top for a list of projects.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the Houston to Austin MS150 bike tour. In 1985 the ride had 237 participants and raised a total of $117,000 for MS research. Nowadays, the top teams raise over $500,000 and the top 3-4 individual fundraisers raise over $50,000!

This is how your money gets used:
