Word on the Road
Updated 26 April 2010
May 1, 2010: Mayday
Challenge Bike Ride. This is an excellent, nicely
organized local ride for a fine cause that is becoming an
annual Brazos Valley tradition. The ride features good SAG
support, frequent rest stops with food/drink, and post-ride
massages and cookies. There are routes covering 4, 18, 40,
and 67 miles over some of the nicest roads in the area. Most
regular participants in the Saturday Flagpole Ride do this
ride instead when it comes around on the local calendar.
“Scholarships” covering the $30 entry fee will be
available for area locals (including Aggie students) who would
like to do the ride but are under a tight budget. Contact Chris
Menzel or Wolfgang
Bangerth if you or someone you know would like to
request one. (We have never given away as many as have been
offered in past years, so don’t hesitate to ask!)
