Bicycles for Christmas

100 underprivileged children in the Brazos Valley got bicycles for Christmas thanks to the generosity of local lawyer Jeff Paradowski. Here is the story from The Eagle. The bicycles were distributed on December 22, 2005 at the Walmart Supercenter in Bryan, TX.

The Brazos Valley Cyclists were on hand to help with bicycle fitting, and to distribute 26 helmets. Time constraints made it impossible for the cycling club to order helmets for the bicycle recipients. The 26 helmets distributed were donated by the Austin Cycling Association from stock they had on hand. Hays Glover coordinated the BVC volunteers.

Donor Jeff Paradowski was pleased with the giveaway and outpouring of help. He hopes to give away more bikes next year. The BVC hopes to be able to provide helmets to go with the bikes next year.
